Max Nelson is an Intermediate Business Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit Department. In his role he is responsible for sensing top risks and strategic initiatives within the department, preparing the department's annual strategic plan, program managing the Crisis Simulation Lab outreach efforts, and assisting System strategic initiatives. Outside of his main role, Max has been heavily involved in the intern program at the Bank, serving as a Head of House in 2023 and 2024 and as the Program Co-Manager in 2025. Max holds a BA in Economics and Statistics with a minor in Data Science from UVA. While at UVA, he was involved in extracurriculars including marching band, Camp Kesem, summer orientation, leadership in Alpha Phi Alpha and the NPHC, and living on the Lawn his fourth year. Some of Max's hobbies include listening to music, hiking, and playing pick-up sports like volleyball.
