Wendy Blake is originally from Annandale, Virginia, and holds a BA in Economics from UVA. Following three years at an environmental consulting firm, Wendy went to law school, clerked for a federal judge, and then launched her legal career at the United States Department of Justice, litigating cases in federal appellate and district courts. Wendy currently serves as the Acting Deputy General Counsel for Operations in the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of General Counsel. In this role, she serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Office of General Counsel and the chief legal advisor for the Agency's operation and management activities. Prior to her current position, Wendy served as an Environmental Appeals Judge on the Agency's Environmental Appeals Board. She has extensive litigation experience in administrative law and federal pollution control statutes. She also has substantial management experience, including serving as the Associate General Counsel for the General Law Office and the Assistant General Counsel for the Air and Radiation Law Office in the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of General Counsel. In these capacities, she managed large teams of attorneys and professional staff and led participation in matters before the Supreme Court, federal appellate courts, and district courts. Wendy currently lives in Arlington, Virginia, and has two kids at UVA.
