Steve Ander
Steve fell in love with UVA on his sister's admission tour when he walked the Lawn and found out that students got to live in a museum designed by Thomas Jefferson. He made the most of his time here as the Chair of the Guide Service and a brother at Phi Delta Theta. He was part of the first class of Economics' Distinguished Major Program, writing his final thesis on parking tickets at UVA. After graduation, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers Federal Practice and then attended the Harvard Kennedy School looking to help improve government from the inside. Having spent three years at the U.S. Secret Service, he realized it was not as easy as it sounded. After his appointment lapsed, he led Gallup's civilian government portfolio for six years. Upon learning he and his wife were having a baby, Steve shifted finances to maximize time with his growing family and left the corporate world for 10 months. He returned to the job market with a key focus on not doing government work, and he has since been the Global Analytics Director at Accenture for the last seven years.
