Major to Major Career Coaching Fair 2025 Recap

On September 5th, the ECO hosted its annual Major-to-Major (M2M) Career Coaching Fair in the Newcomb Hall Ballroom, our largest program of the fall. In total, the ECO was able to serve more than 250 students during the three-hour event, thanks to all of our wonderful 40 coaches who spent hours preparing and participating in this event. During M2M, students met with coaches (aka fellow students) for hour-long sessions and participated in casual, informal networking conversations. Conversations between coaches and students included internship recruitment, accessing undergraduate research opportunities, study abroad, graduate school exploration and what each of these experiences entailed. This annual event supports lower-level students' preparation for the recruiting season ahead and opens doors to opportunities both at UVA and beyond. Coaches had experience spanning a variety of different industries and employers, including commercial banking, construction, energy, economic development, economic and litigation consulting, federal consulting, global banking, investment banking, management consulting, non-profits, research, ratings agencies, supply chain and logistics, and more. In addition to exposing students to new career fields and job functions, this event helped to prepare 2nd and 3rd year students for upcoming resume drop deadlines and how to navigate conversations with employers and alumni at career fairs. Thank you to our student volunteers who served as career coaches for students and donated their time and shared their knowledge. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Special thanks to Aramark for donating breakfast and lunch.
