Please note that some clubs require matriculation in a specific school and sometimes this requirement changes depending upon the leadership of the organization for that year. You are encouraged to seek out that information if you are interested in a club.

Consider also/instead taking on a leadership/business role in any organization in which you participate. Determine the skills you want to develop and pursue opportunities that afford you the chance to build those skills.

Accounting Society at McIntire

The Accounting Society at McIntire recognizes outstanding academic achievement in the field of financial information and sponsors programs that assist in the development of students interested in Accounting and Finance. The Accounting Society at McIntire is open to pre-Commerce, Commerce, M.S. in Commerce, and M.S. in Accounting students. 

Advertising Marketing Association

The Advertising and Marketing Association provides students with the opportunity to learn about the advertising and marketing industries, as well as career paths in various areas of marketing through speakers, panels, and other events throughout the year. Within AMA is the UVA chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Each year, AAF offers a nationwide intercollegiate case competition that provides the opportunity to apply classroom theory in the development of an actual ad campaign, including research, total media plan, and creative planning and execution. All interested students are welcome to participate.

Alpha Kappa Psi (AKPsi)

AKPsi is a co-ed professional business fraternity, affiliated to the McIntire School of Commerce. Students from all schools within UVa are allowed to pledge the fraternity, as long as the student is interested in pursuing a career in business.

Alternative Investment Fund (AIF)

Alternative Investment Fund @ McIntire's aim is to train highly-talented UVa students to be qualified investment professionals in the asset management industry while providing market neutral absolute returns.

Black Commerce Student Network at McIntire

The Black Commerce Student Network at McIntire provides African/African-American pre-Commerce and Commerce students with the necessary support and resources to ensure their success at the McIntire School of Commerce.

Business Ethics Society

The Business Ethics Society​ promotes active and critical study, discussion, and analysis of applied business ethics and corporate social responsibility at the McIntire School of Commerce and the University of Virginia.

CavTech Investment Society (CTIS)

CavTech Investment Society (CTIS) is a student-run, engineering-based organization that encourages students with interests in data analysis and IT to "think different" and to explore their potential interests in the world of finance and investment.

Deca is a club for students interested in participating in entrepreneurship and marketing events and competitions.

The Consulting Group at McIntire educates students about various careers in consulting by working in real-life consulting situations and offering workshops to help students learn and refine case interview techniques.

Entrepreneurship Group at U.Va.

The Entrepreneurship Group at UVA aims to create an atmosphere that allows students to cultivate their entrepreneurial plans through interaction with like-minded peers, professors, and established entrepreneurs. Members are provided guidance into the entrepreneurial field through group facilitation, business plan presentations, and participation in entrepreneurial competitions.

Future Business Leaders of America

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is an association of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The FBLA-PBL Mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.

Get on the Street

Get on the Street is an organization dedicated to increasing exposure of minority students to companies in the financial services industry. Through workshops, info sessions, and company visits among other things, students learn the proper tools to help them earn internships and full time jobs with a variety of competitive companies in the business field.

Global Business Brigades (GBB)

UVA Global Business Brigades plans trips to Torti Abajo, Panama where we provide business as well as personal finance consulting to families within the community. We hold member training meetings, fundraising and social events throughout semesters.

Global Markets Group at the McIntire School of Commerce (GMG)

The Global Markets Group (formerly the Sustainable Investment Group) strives to introduce students at the University of Virginia to investing in foreign markets.

Global Microfinance Brigades (MFB)

The Global Microfinance Brigades at the University of Virginia is a chapter of the nonprofit organization, Global Brigades. We are a global development organization that advocates bringing sustainable programs to the holistic model of Global Brigades.

Investment Banking Club (IBC)

International Business Network

The International Business Network is designed to promote dialogue between students and professionals in an increasingly globalized business environment. The interactions between students and professionals will allow the students to grow professionally and academically, while also developing personal relationships in an industry of their interest. The Network of chapters around the world also creates a forum for students to exchange ideas, learn from industry leaders and explore international markets as well as career opportunities. Net Impact at the University of Virginia

Net Impact at the University of Virginia is an organization run by students whose mission is to inspire, educate, and provide individuals with the necessary tools to intertwine business and social impact, creating a more socially and environmentally sustainable world. We focus on creating a positive change on grounds by raising awareness of sustainability careers, offering educational lectures on the importance of social impact in business settings, and giving individuals the opportunity to build relationships with local social impact business leaders.

Peer Financial Counselors

Peer Financial Counselors are trained on a variety of topics, including budgeting, student loans, managing personal credit, basic investing, and preparing financial plans for an internship or when you transition to the workforce. Check out

SEED provides free consulting services to socially-conscious businesses & non-profits worldwide, allowing students the opportunity to engage in social entrepreneurship that has a positive impact. SEED also seeks to promote social entrepreneurship at UVA.

McIntire Investment Institute

The McIntire Investment Institute, one of the few student-run investment institutes in the nation, was started in 1994 with a $100,000 gift from John Griffin (McIntire '85). Its purpose is to teach students about investing by using real money; students handle all investment decisions. Participation in MII is open to any UVA student.

Smart Women’s Securities

University of Virginia Smart Woman Securities (SWS), recent winner of UVA’s Best New CIO award and McIntire's 2014 Outstanding Student Organization Award, is the UVA chapter of a national organization that seeks to educate women about the fundamentals of investment and finance. Through an intensive seminar series, investment project, mentorship program, and significant networking opportunities, SWS aims to create a cohesive, supportive environment for women to achieve financial confidence and explore new career fields. After completing the seminar series, full members of SWS have the opportunity to manage SWS’s investment fund and meet with successful investors such as Warren Buffett. By providing direct investment experience, SWS hopes to succeed in creating a community of women with greater investment knowledge and financial influence.

Sports Business Society

Are you interested in how the world of sports meets the world of academia, and how analytics shape professional sports? If you are even the least bit curious, come meet and discuss these topics with other curious Hoos just like yourself!

US-China Business and Finance Club

This organization will be a platform for students interested in US-China business and finance. The club will foster learning and exchange of ideas in financial research and business consulting.

Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is an international honorary organization for accounting, finance, and information technology students and professionals. BAP was founded on February 12, 1919 and it currently has 279 active chapters and over 300,000 members

Virginia Case Club

Virginia Case Club (VCC) is a hub for anyone interested in business case competitions to meet and learn from one another, using its proprietary “E4” case program to teach members to excel at case competitions. Members receive rigorous training, extensive case practice and discussions, access to advice from experienced competitors, and above all, a fun and enriching learning experience.

Virginia Venture Fund (VVF)

Student led Venture Fund that partners with established venture capital and private equity firms invest in startup companies. The goals are to educate students about the funding of start-ups/raising money give them a chance to invest real money.

Women’s Business Forum at McIntire

The Women's Business Forum at McIntire provides an open forum to discuss issues that are unique to gender and to explore the challenges faced in work and family relationships. The group is open to all students.
