The Virginia Department of Energy, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency program, is seeking an accomplished Clean Energy Projects Coordinator to assist with project management to ensure high quality resource and program support for program staff, stakeholders, and customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for programmatic and administrative short-term projects and will have primary responsibilities for the following:

· Conduct and implement administrative responsibilities associated with the State Energy Program (SEP) and legacy American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) programs 

· Oversee project management assistance to implement SEP and legacy ARRA programs

· Research and respond to inquiries concerning SEP and ARRA related operations, policies, and procedures

· Support agency engagement teams, program communications, and website updates

· Complete additional duties as assigned in accordance with management’s direction

This position is critical to the agency’s ability to manage activities associated with SEP and legacy ARRA program contracts, grants, and other financial engagements to support the clean energy transition through implementation. This position will support the Commonwealth energy policy and legislation, the Virginia Energy Plan and Energy Policy, and support other energy, climate, and economic justice and equity policies of the Commonwealth, including Executive Order 43 and the Virginia Clean Economy Act. The selected individual must pass a drug and alcohol test as part of the Virginia Energy pre-employment process and submit a Statement of Economic Interest.

The successful candidate should possess knowledge of project management principles and practices, government contract monitoring, organizational design and effectiveness, research methods and practices, automated office equipment, and filing systems and principles. Demonstrated ability to independently perform assignments accurately and quickly under pressure, work as part of a team to provide support to multiple personnel, prioritize and manage multiple short-term projects, interpret policies, draft procedures, communicate effectively, and coordinate work activities of office and staff. Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Ability to support peers and Board Chairs with public meeting administration duties. 

Understanding and knowledge of organizational diversity, equity and inclusion for both internal organizational goals and culture and also external program goals. Considerable experience in conducting, managing, and supporting project development and implementation, including management practices, research and analysis methodologies, procedures interpretation, and application. Thorough knowledge of PCs, Microsoft, Google and Adobe software knowledge and experience. College degree with coursework in energy, environment, economics, public or business administration, a related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience with project management software and experience with collaboration tools is preferred. Knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy program and policy issues is preferred.
