GEORGIA TECH: SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS, IVAN ALLEN COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS

The Master of Science in Economics program at Georgia Tech is an applied one-year program that prepares students for careers in academia, business, and government sectors. It provides rigorous economic and quantitative training as well as options to specialize in various areas within economics and other schools at Georgia Tech, which is continually ranked amongst the top 10 of U.S. public universities.

Our program is applied in nature as it emphasizes applied economic theory, economic modeling, economic analysis, and quantitative methods. It allows students to enhance their quantitative skills while gaining a better understanding of economic and policy issues. The program is flexible for students to craft their own areas of specialization of interest with their degree. For example, the research-active facility within the School of Economics specialize in areas ranging from applied econometrics, environmental and energy economics, to applied microeconomics. This training, along with Georgia Tech’s brand recognition as a top national and international technology-centered institution, enables students to carve out successful career paths upon completion of our degree.

The MS program also accommodates students with multiple objectives. Our students may seek to further their education to prepare for work in consulting or industry. Our students may also wish to enhance their quantitative background in order to pursue a doctoral degree in Economics, Finance, and many other programs. The Atlanta area provides many opportunities for internships while enrolled in the program and careers upon graduation. Our graduates went on to work with companies such as American Express, AT&T, Bank of America, Capital One, Deloitte, Delta Airlines, KPMG, and The Coca-Cola Company.

We hope that your students will consider the School of Economics at Georgia Tech for their graduate studies. Our application deadline is June 15, 2017. While we do not provide financial aid for students enrolled in the MS program, we may offer a limited number of partial-tuition waivers for out-of-state U.S. students.
